AP Coordinator Checklist
This list provides a high-level, general timeframe of the steps you’ll need to take to ensure readiness for digital AP Exams.
Review the “Master Checklist” in the 2024-25 AP Coordinator’s Manual, Part 2 for a list of steps related to fully digital, hybrid digital, and paper AP Exams.
September–November
- Find the latest videos, resources, and webinars on the Digital AP Exams page.
- Confirm your school’s technology coordinator contact information in AP Registration and Ordering. Go to Settings/School Information and find the current technology coordinator under Participation Contacts. Your technology coordinator must be the person at your school or district responsible for installing apps on school-managed devices. If your school isn’t testing with school-managed devices, the technology coordinator should be the person responsible for the school’s network and other systems. Use the Edit link to update the contact information, if needed.
- Students and teachers can download the Bluebook testing app to explore sample AP Exam questions and try out the tools.
- Connect with your IT staff to plan for digital readiness.
January–February
- Encourage students to try test previews in Bluebook.
- Work with your technology staff to prepare devices and configure the network. See Technology Overview for Digital AP Exams to review the technical readiness to-do-list.
- Talk to the SSD coordinator about accommodations for digital exams. Review information in the AP Accommodations Guide.
March–April
- When you receive the email from College Board in the spring with a link to access Test Day Toolkit, set up Test Day Toolkit and grant access to testing staff. Get instructions and best practices.
- Prepare Proctors and Testing Staff: Train all digital AP Exam testing staff (proctors, room monitors, and technology monitors and coordinators).
- Confirm that all testing staff who will be using Test Day Toolkit on exam day have an appropriate personal or school-managed device.
- Share the AP Technical Troubleshooting Guide (available in early 2025) with technology monitors.
- Review the AP Proctor Exam Day Guide (available in early 2025) and ensure proctors have reviewed it and are familiar with it before the exam.
- Confirm that all proctors for the digital AP Exams have their own College Board professional account and can sign in to it.
- Prepare Students: If students are using personal devices to take a digital AP Exam, make sure they’ve downloaded Bluebook, and encourage them to sign in and try test previews in Bluebook before exam day.
- Encourage teachers to create a class assignment for any students taking digital AP Exams to locate and confirm their College Board log in information. This will ensure students are able to access Bluebook on exam day.
- If students with approved accommodations are planning to take a digital AP Exam using assistive technology, remind them that it’s important to practice using and configuring assistive technology with Bluebook.
- Remind students who are bringing their own testing device to the digital AP Exam to arrive with their power cord and the device fully charged.
2 Weeks Before Testing
- Confirm that all testing staff who will be using Test Day Toolkit on exam day have an appropriate personal or school-managed device and have received a print or electronic copy of the AP Proctor Exam Day Guide.
- Remind AP teachers to have students try test previews in Bluebook as an in-class or at-home assignment.
- Remind students to confirm and test their College Board login information in Bluebook to avoid delays on exam day. (Saving their password on their device won’t work on exam day.)
- Confirm testing staff can connect to Wi-Fi in the testing room and access their assigned AP Exam in Test Day Toolkit.
- Check that exam rooms have the required network speed and strength to support the expected number of students.
1 Week Before Testing
- Confirm that relevant testing staff have signed in to Test Day Toolkit and selected their assigned AP Exams from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm that all students have successfully signed in to Bluebook and can launch test previews.
- Remind students to confirm and test their College Board login information in Bluebook to avoid delays on exam day. (Saving their password on their device won’t work on exam day.)
- Confirm if any students will be testing with assistive technology. Review details about using and configuring assistive technology with Bluebook with them.
- Confirm or waive accommodations for students through AP Registration and Ordering.
On Exam Day
- In Test Day Toolkit, grant full access to staff for the digital AP Exams.
After Testing
- Reach out to any students who have not successfully submitted their digital AP Exam responses.
- Students have 4 calendar days to submit their responses after the exam, if needed.
- Complete the post-administration survey.
